There are many things and issues that a Muslim can tolerate; we have to be accepting of change in the world. As long as the change and advances in the name of modernity do not affect our basic belief, we must accept them and even incorporate them in our lives.
What we cannot and will not accept, is the loss of core beliefs as a Muslim, whether in ourselves or a fellow Muslim. Yet, this is exactly what poverty does. Poverty is the cancer that causes ignorance and ignorance is loss of imaan. Poverty will cause one to lose imaan, this is an undisputed fact!
