1. Sick boy:

You remember the boy I met in Herat who was apparently sick, with his face broken out and a growth from his ear? Well, look at the photo I received after treatment! And guess what it cost you the donor in sadaqah funds - less than US $12 to treat him with anti-biotics.

The boy was in apparent agony but could not afford the simple medication and we can now feel satisfied that your small efforts through sadaqah funds go a long way in places like Afghanistan. Jazaak'Allah!

2. Saadat marriages:

If you have been following international news, Srinagar in Indian Kashmir was up in flames with rioting and lawlessness the last few weeks. I had to cancel my trip for early July to oversee the marriages of 25 poor Sadaat girls at Uri, Bara Mualla and surrounding villages. Alhamd'Allah, things calmed down and I went up last week; here are a few photos of financial aid for the marriage being handed out. All marriages will be completed on or before Shabaan 15 and copies of Nikah sent to CAI.

3. Srinagar orphanage:

I also visited the construction site for our new orphanage. Alhamd'Allah, the work is on time and more importantly, on budget. This is first time a local community is participating in financial responsibility; 20% of total cost is borne by the local community. CAI will be looking at taking on most future projects (there are always exceptions) this way.
