This fund is still open for more blankets to be distributed; costs US$14 each.

Sirsi School Needs New Classrooms: |
|
Our school in Sirsi, in UP India is running out of space and needs to expand. This school caters to almost 1,400 children from poor neighborhoods who otherwise would have no opportunity for an education. We have children who sit in the corridors and under staircases that serve as classrooms. CAI will, insha'Allah build 7 classrooms on the first floor at the cost of US$35,000 - $5,000 each. Please consider supporting this very worthy cause as the best salvation out of poverty is a quality education. We can dedicate one room to a loved one in your family.

Mother of 24 Children: |
|
I was born in Sirsi, child of very poor parents who had eleven children in all; I have six sisters and four brothers. Daily survival was a struggle so the easiest solution for my parents was to marry me off at age fifteen. She looks at me in astonishment when I ask her if she went to school, then laughs at the absurdity of my question.
