Your Sadeqa Funds

Planes, Trains, Automobiles ...

I had the good fortune to make a speedy, brief visit to Machipatnam, Vijaywada and Alinaqipalam in Andra Pradesh last week; 75 minute flight to Hyderabaad, a 7 hour train ride to Machipatnam, 5 hours by car to Vijaywada and Alinaqipalam, another 7 hours by train to Hyderabaad and a flight back to Mumbai, all in 2 days. My aim was to distribute sadqa funds to some 100 very poor and aged widows struggling to make ends meet due to ailments and medical expenses. Alhamd'Allah, mission accomplished even though the going was rough, especially 2nd class train rides in rural India. These communities I visited hold a combined population of about 25,000  muslims, almost all labor working class.

It felt good to be in green, pollution free rural India again, a break from Mumbai and felt even better after I met the widows and handed their rights to them, getting a mouthful of wonderful enviable duas. So this then, is where some of your sadqa funds go; please click here to see list and here for more photos of widows who received these help.

Education Assistance To Poor Students:

Another area where CAI put a lot of effort and resources is in education of children who are deprived or marginalized. We have a long list of success stories from students who our donors have helped; these are now productive members of their families and communities. They earn a decent, respectable living and in turn help others less fortunate then them. Please click here for photos and list of most recent batch of students assisted by donors of CAI - Jazaak'Allah!

Zakat el Fitre:

This is your final opportunity to distribute your Zakaat el Fitre to the poor and destitute of India and Afghanistan; we must receive your pledge / funds no later than Ramadhan 28. Please ensure your niyyat for this payment is a loan to CAI and then change the niyya to Zakaat el Fitre on Eid day.

Final Trustee Comes Aboard:

I welcome our final Trustee to CAI; Murtaza Nathani of New York. CAI now has 5 Trustees that will guide and oversee all CAI activities around the world and reinforce transparency and accountability of all financial activity.

Eid Mubaarak, Insha'Allah:

I, and on behalf of all Trustees, wish you all a blessed and joyous Eid; our prayers are that you have a wonderful Eid with your families and may Allah (S) accept all your amaals, grant all your dua's that He deems good for you and He bless you and your families in this and after worlds.

Jazaak'Allah and Allah (S) Bless.
