Objective
Founding Values
Respect: We acknowledge the dignity, potential and contribution of participants, donors and partner charities. Integrity: We always act with CAI's mission, being honest and totally transparent in what we do and say, and accept complete responsibility for our collective and individual actions.
Honesty is not an issue; we have Him (STW) to answer.
Dedication: We work effectively to serve for the pleasure of Allah (SWT).
Quality: We are constantly learning and challenging ourselves to perform with equity and compassion. Many of our programs have been funded even before the actual need is realized.
Comfort Aid International's Program Rules:
In order to carry out CAI's vision and mission, all of CAI's plans conform to the following Program Principles. These principles are qualities that should inform and guide, at a basic level, the way we work. They are not optional and not open to compromise. These are:
Rule 1: Promote individual self-help: We stand in camaraderie with poor, marginalized and destitute people, and support their efforts to take control of their own lives and realize their rights, responsibilities and aspiration. We make certain that key recipients are involved in the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of our programs.
Rule 2: Partner with existing charities: We work existing charities for maximum impact of our resources and not reinventing the wheel, building alliances and partnerships with those who offer corresponding approaches, are able to adopt to our rational of doing things, and have a history of responsibility to fulfill rights and alleviate poverty through policy change and enforcement.
Rule 3: Guarantee accountability / responsibility transparency: We seek ways to be held accountable to poor, marginalized and destitute people whose rights are denied. More importantly, we seek ways to be accountable to donors, for they have overriding priority of assurance that every last cent is accounted and spent in accordance to their wishes.
Rule 4: Seek sustainable results: By trying to identify and address fundamental causes of poverty, we develop and use ways that ensure our aid result in long-term and basic upgrades in the lives of the poor, marginalized and destitute with whom we work.
Rule 5: Equalize education sex disparity: Due to gender bias towards the male sex in some countries, we try and equalize it by promoting female priority in school enrollments with all other criteria being equal.
